Professional Background

Bob Smith has been a resident of Florida since 1968, and attended the University of Florida. He then spent twelve years with a Fortune 500 company. In 1991, Bob entered the financial services industry and later became a training manager for a large local agency. In 1999, he left his training position to concentrate full-time on building his own practice. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1999, his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 2000, and his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2000. Bob’s knowledge covers many financial areas. He specializes in working with clients using a comprehensive comparative analysis system that takes a more holistic financial approach. Bob is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Financial Planning Association, Society of Financial Services Professionals, and Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council.


He is active in his church and enjoys spending time with his family. Bob is a former top amateur triathlete and competed internationally. Bob has won several races including the half Ironman held in Panama City, Florida. He also twice qualified for and was a top finisher at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. He has run in several marathons including the Boston Marathon. Bob now enjoys traveling and working on total physical fitness.

Josie Thomas has been in the financial industry for over 24 years in which she was licensed in Life, Health and Variable Annuities. During her career Josie has completed several Life Office Management Association (LOMA), in which she obtained her Associate Customer Service designation. She has also completed several classes pertinent to her position and the financial services industry. After 20 years with another large financial firm Josie joined Smith Financial Solutions in 2017. Her duties include customer service, client management, financial analysis preparation, technology specialist and business accounting.
